These religious women and men who outnumber the poor examples by thousands to one, are left to face their final years in ignominity because of the few failures who wore the same close but did not do the same work. How tragic it is to see these fine souls suffering. Yet, they all have worked and preached the gospel truths and are persevering to the end. Each of them, like all of us, have to face the final cross, sooner or later. They have the joyful anticipation of the Lord’s welcome at the end of the race well run, “welcome, good and faithful servant.”
Let us recall the good; try to overcome the wrongdoers and lift up the good. Treat others as you will want to be treated. Let us pray for their final burdens to be light.
